The next generation of Senior Living: University Based Retirement Communities™ (UBRCs™)
SAGE TOURS introduce Professor Andrew Carle
The term University Based Retirement Community™, or UBRC™ was coined in 2006 by internationally recognised senior living expert Andrew Carle, Founding Director and Executive-in-Residence of the Program in Senior Housing Administration at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Today, UBRCs™ are among the fastest growing segment of the senior living industry, with communities affiliated with many of the United States leading universities and colleges.
The SAGE program will begin with a presentation of “UBRCs™: What You Need to Know”, personally delivered by Andrew Carle, followed by onsite visits and reviews of UBRCs™ identified by Carle as best providing the active, intellectually stimulating, and intergenerational environments sought by today’s and tomorrow’s seniors.
During the tour, you will learn the history of UBRC™ development in the United States, review current and future demand drivers, and criteria for success. You will also visit some of the most beautiful and historic university and college campuses in the U.S., tour their affiliated UBRC™, and meet the alumni, community executives, and university officials who bring the community to life.
With UBRCs™ gaining rapid interest internationally, don’t miss this opportunity to “see where it all began”, while learning how to bring this model to academic institutions and senior populations worldwide.
