This SAGE tour incorporated a focus on Quality and Leadership systems in Boston and Toronto (Canada), and how these regions have met the challenges of implementing quality systems and developing leadership for CEOs, Senior Executives and their relationship to Governing Boards. The tour included Residential Care facilities, Community Care organisations, academic overviews, and IT innovation. The tour participants also attended a day-long leadership program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
“This SAGE trip to Boston and the USA was advertised as having a focus on quality, and that’s something I am interested in. I found wonderful innovation and ideas to better measure service delivery in multi-site organisations. We visited organisations that have been inventive and innovative, that presented us with something that was above and beyond customer expectations, so having seen how they have actually done that and gathered community engagement particularly well has been wonderful. “
