ThomsonAdsett is a leading international architecture and design firm with studios throughout Australia and Asia. Our flexible design thinking is reflected across a range of sectors including seniors living, education & communities, commercial, health, leisure & resorts and retail.
ThomsonAdsett are the world’s second largest firm specialising in seniors living, and bring 30 years of local and global experience. Their designer’s travel the world to bring the latest information on trends, facilities and products to clients. From small-scale independent living developments, to large hospital care facilities, their designs suit all types of accommodation.
“We see SAGE as a wonderful opportunity for our staff to continue research and development into new technologies and design; to form close working relationships with industry CEO’s and senior management, it also gives us opportunities to link closely with aged care and retirement living peak bodies. That’s all good for business. These trips give us a great perspective on what is happening in the aged care sector around the planet.”
“Another area that is critical for Thomson Adsett is technology in aged care. It is advancing so rapidly that it’s hard to keep up, so travelling on a SAGE Tour is a great way of seeing first hand new ideas at work and then being able to talk those ideas through with fellow industry travellers to see whether they would work in Australia.”
Managing Director of
Aged and Community Services Australia
Aged & Community Services Australia (ACSA) is the leading national peak body for aged and community care providers.
It represents approximately 700 church, charitable and community-based organisations providing housing, residential care, community care and home support services to older people, younger people with a disability and their carers.
ACSA members provide care and support in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote regions across Australia.
“The SAGE programme is extremely beneficial for ACSA Members. Ageing is a global phenomenon and the SAGE tours provide an opportunity to learn from our global colleagues how we might best go about our business to deliver quality outcomes for our clients.
The global village presents a broader context that challenges the way we currently consider socio-cultural, technological, financial and human resourcing issues in our local environment.
Additionally, the professional friendships that develop among the tour participants has longstanding benefits on return to Australia.”
